Hurricane Earl, which is currently over Puerto Rico, will be passing to the NORTH of the Dominican Republic later today\/tonight. There is NO need to panic, but because of the close proximity of Earl, it is almost certain that the Dominican Republic during the next 24 hours will experience some heavy RAIN and winds. We recommend that you prepare for this heavy rain by closing up your house and planning to stay indoors until the rain has passed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

It is important to note that the Dominican Republic does NOT fall into the \u2018Hurricane watch area\u2019 meaning that the hurricane is NOT expected to hit the Dominican Republic. Countries in the \u2018Hurricane watch area\u2019 are: Aguilla, Saint Martin and Saint Barthelemy, St.Maarten and St Eustatius, the British Virgin Islands, the US Virgin Islands, the Puerto Rican Islands of Culebra and Vieques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
