You may recognise some of the children in the photos \u2013 they will now be in their 20\u2019s and 30\u2019s!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cThe most effective kind of education is that a child should play amongst lovely things.\u201d<\/em> \u2014 Plato (428 \u2013 348 BCE), classical Greek philosopher mathematician, writer, and founder of the Academy in Athens, the first institution of higher learning in the Western world.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Children adore Casa de Campo.  In the 1980s and 90s,  it seemed as though Casa was made just for children because there were so many places in Casa where children could feel at home and safely be on their own.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/2010\/08\/memories-of-casa-de-campo-the-children-of-casa-part-1\/01-children-at-the-casa-pool-jpg-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-19817\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/01-children-at-the-Casa-pool1-1.jpg?resize=565%2C486&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"01 children at the Casa pool.jpg\" class=\"wp-image-19817\" title=\"01 children at the Casa pool.jpg\" height=\"486\" width=\"565\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Children at main pool<br>\n<br>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the time I lived in Casa, older children on school holidays would drive around in golf carts, and the little ones would follow running along.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Occasionally a golf cart would be found at the bottom of one of the many neighborhood pools after a teen party.  This practice was frowned upon by the guardians of Casa and they tried to put a stop to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Casa de Campo held celebrations designed just for children.
