{"id":318807,"date":"2010-05-07T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2010-05-07T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/3rd-annual-la-estancia-golf-classic-fun-in-the-sun\/"},"modified":"2022-11-10T10:36:17","modified_gmt":"2022-11-10T14:36:17","slug":"3rd-annual-la-estancia-golf-classic-fun-in-the-sun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/es\/3rd-annual-la-estancia-golf-classic-fun-in-the-sun\/","title":{"rendered":"3rd Annual La Estancia Golf Classic – fun in the sun!"},"content":{"rendered":"\"3rd<\/a>\n\nLast Saturday the 1st of May the La Estancia Golf resort held it’s 3rd Annual La Estancia Golf Classic Tournament and despite the heat – it was a fabulous day! \n\nThe Tournament involved 2 days of golf, 2 dinners, a brunch and even a party and so for the golfers involved was a fun-packed and tiring 2 days!\n\nOn Friday the 30th of April the fun started with a ‘pool’ tournament played on the beautiful P.B Dye designed La Estancia golf course, which was followed by a delicious dinner.\u00a0Unfortunately, due to school commitments (boo) and having to go to the Dominican Republic Fashion Week (yeah!), I was unable to attend this section of the event.\n\nFor me and my partner (who I had duped into thinking I could play golf) the tournament began on Saturday morning the 1st of May (a little too early for my liking).\n\nLa Estancia had organised a brunch complete with fruit, toast, croissants, bread, cheese and meats which was served on the La Estancia club house terrace, which was superbly decked out and ready for the party in the evening.\n\nThe tournament was\u00a0officially\u00a0started with a reading of the rules (boo) and then Augusto Avanzini started it all by driving a ball from the Club house backwards down hole #18.\n\n\"3rd<\/a>\n\nAs there were so many players involved, the tournament was played in a shotgun format and we had 8 people starting on our tee – which happened to be sponsored by Casa de Campo Living! Woohoo!\n\nHere I am posing at \u00a0hole #12 \/ Casa de Campo Living’s hole – and yes I know I must keep my eye on the ball!\n\n\"3rd<\/a>\n\nAs this was Casa de Campo Living’s hole, I took photo’s of everyone teeing off – great swing gentlemen!\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\nOn our way around the course our jolly 4-some of me, my partner Angela Rosario, Leo Proa\u00f1o and his partner Junior Quintero had a great time. The La Estancia course is so beautiful (like the Dye Fore) and is (in my humble opinion) not too challenging (like the Links), so it’s always fun to play!\n\nHere are a few photos of the 4 of us, playing some very serious golf:\n\n[nggallery id=362]\n\nBy the end of the day I was\u00a0completely\u00a0exhausted, and very excited about the prize-giving, a drink and some food!
