Casa de Campo\u2019s 22nd Annual Sugar Shooting tournament will be held this week, in Casa de Campo\u2019s 245 acre tropical shooting grounds from April the 22nd to the 26th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The annual Sugar Shooting tournament is part of the Sugar Open<\/a> which also incorporates a golf tournament<\/a> \u2013 the Sugar Golf tournament<\/a> played last week on Casa de Campo\u2019s Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore and Links golf courses. The proceeds from both tournaments are donated to the Fundacion MIR Charities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The by-invitation-only event will take place on an open wild grass field and during tournaments up to 100 mechanical stations are set up simulating any bird that can be shot in the wild. The clay targets that mimic quails, partridges, ducks and other birds in flight are shot overhead and from various positions and distances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The firing range\u2019s dominant feature is the 110 foot high standing tower, one of the world\u2019s tallest, which launches clays up to 45 yards into the sky! Considered one of the world\u2019s most challenging sporting clay courses, its shooting venue includes trap, skeet, flyers and Columbaire as well as hunting for pheasant, partridge, quail, duck and other game birds, raised specifically for the activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
