When we first arrived at Onno\u2019s, we were surprised to find that Onno\u2019s has upgraded it\u2019s decor \u2013 again! Has Onno\u2019s grown up? We think so! New tables, combined with their new adult oriented cuisine (<a href=\"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/2009\/12\/casa-de-campo-living-reviews-onnos-bar-now-with-fantastic-seafood\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">click here<\/a>, to read our article on their new menu), it seems that Onno\u2019s is doing a wonderful job of creating a far more upscale ambiance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/2010\/03\/casa-de-campo-living-reviews-weekly-specials-at-onnos-bar\/onnos-bar-decor-casa-de-campo-living\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14397\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/onnos-bar-decor-casa-de-campo-living.jpg?resize=575%2C310&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"onno's bar decor - casa de campo living\" class=\"wp-image-14397\" title=\"onno's bar decor - casa de campo living\" height=\"310\" width=\"575\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Having spoken to the young and energetic owner, Nathan Bailey, he informed us that the new look was indeed a serious attempt to attract the dinner crowd \u201chaving long been known as THE hot spot in Altos de Chavon and having recently added <a href=\"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/2009\/12\/casa-de-campo-living-reviews-onnos-bar-now-with-fantastic-seafood\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">delicious seafood <\/a>to the menu, we felt that by slightly changing the ambiance, we could create a more comfortable dining experience which villa owners, residents and resort guests could all enjoy \u2013 whether coming for a causal diner while watching the game or coming for a romantic evening.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And now to fit in with their new image Onno\u2019s bar has a list of weekly specials, which during our Casa de Campo Living review we were able to try! &nbsp;Of course, the weekly specials change every week, but here is what we tried:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>BBQ chicken<\/strong> (RD$365.00) \u2013 saucy! This nice piece of chicken was saucy and juicy, coming with crispety crunchyety delicious onion rings!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/2010\/03\/casa-de-campo-living-reviews-weekly-specials-at-onnos-bar\/onnos-bar-casa-de-campo\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14392\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/onnos-bar-casa-de-campo.jpg?resize=575%2C431&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"onno's bar casa de campo\" class=\"wp-image-14392\" title=\"onno's bar casa de campo\" height=\"431\" width=\"575\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lemon and Garlic Shrimp<\/strong> (RD$825) \u2013 sauteed with fresh garlic and served with a bowl of golden-delicious looking French Fries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/2010\/03\/casa-de-campo-living-reviews-weekly-specials-at-onnos-bar\/onnos-bar-casa-de-campo-living\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14393\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/onnos-bar-casa-de-campo-living.jpg?resize=575%2C431&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"onno's bar casa de campo living\" class=\"wp-image-14393\" title=\"onno's bar casa de campo living\" height=\"431\" width=\"575\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fish Fingers and Chips (RD$350)<\/strong> \u2013 about as close as you are going to get to fish and chips, a personal favorite of mine, which were perfectly dippable in a delicious tartar sauce!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/2010\/03\/casa-de-campo-living-reviews-weekly-specials-at-onnos-bar\/fish-and-chips-at-onnos-bar-casa-de-campo-living\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14395\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/fish-and-chips-at-Onnos-bar-casa-de-campo-living.jpg?resize=575%2C431&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"fish and chips at Onno's bar - casa de campo living\" class=\"wp-image-14395\" title=\"fish and chips at Onno's bar - casa de campo living\" height=\"431\" width=\"575\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lemon Chicken breast with white rice <\/strong>\u2013 although at first glance this dish may make you long for a nice tan and a little color, the chicken did pack a surprisingly zesty lemony punch that had a few delightful undertones that gave the chicken a mysteriously intriguing flavor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/2010\/03\/casa-de-campo-living-reviews-weekly-specials-at-onnos-bar\/lemon-chicken-at-onnos-bar-casa-de-campo-living\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14396\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/lemon-chicken-at-Onnos-bar-casa-de-campo-living.jpg?resize=575%2C431&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"lemon chicken at Onno's bar - casa de campo living\" class=\"wp-image-14396\" title=\"lemon chicken at Onno's bar - casa de campo living\" height=\"431\" width=\"575\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-14396\" href=\"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/2010\/03\/casa-de-campo-living-reviews-weekly-specials-at-onnos-bar\/lemon-chicken-at-onnos-bar-casa-de-campo-living\/\">\n<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every time&nbsp;I visit Onno\u2019s bar I am always very pleasantly surprised \u2013 it feels like Onno\u2019s is constantly striving to improve, by upgrading their furniture, the menu and innovating with special student\u2019s nights, parties, DJ\u2019s and now they\u2019ve added weekly specials to their already impressive menu.
