{"id":318469,"date":"2010-02-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2010-02-26T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/the-copa-presidente-regatta-in-casa-de-campo-this-weekend\/"},"modified":"2022-10-21T17:58:22","modified_gmt":"2022-10-21T21:58:22","slug":"the-copa-presidente-regatta-in-casa-de-campo-this-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/es\/the-copa-presidente-regatta-in-casa-de-campo-this-weekend\/","title":{"rendered":"The Copa Presidente Regatta in Casa de Campo THIS weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/yacht.jpg?resize=580%2C408&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"yacht\" class=\"wp-image-10905\" title=\"yacht\" height=\"408\" width=\"580\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Ok, so this is a little short notice but in case you\u2019re interested the annual Copa Presidente Regatta is taking place out of the Marina Casa de Campo this weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The regatta races begin tomorrow, but the actual event starts tonight \u2013 at 6pm in the Casa de Campo Yacht Club where all participants will gather for a welcome cocktail and a brief on the race rules and procedures etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taking part in this year\u2019s event is a record number of teams \u2013 more than 27 in total! Which by my calculations, means that at least 100 people will be competing in the regatta (I am a maths teacher, but still this is only a rough estimate.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The regatta proper will take place on Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th. On Saturday 2 regattas (or races to you non-sailors) around buoys will take place whilst on Sunday just one (much longer) regatta around Catalina Island will take place. The entire event will culminate in a prize-giving ceremony in the Plaza Portofino at 5pm on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Teams will be competing in 4 categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Racing class \u2013 the winner\u2019s of this category will be awarded the Copa Presidente<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Spinnaker Cruising class<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Non-spinnaker class<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Catamaran class<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is expected that these 100+ sailors will be attended Casa de Campo Living and the Marina Casa de Campo\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/2010\/02\/carnaval-in-casa-free-food-and-drinks-gifts-and-special-offers\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">CARNAVAL IN CASA, <\/a>which is also taking place over the weekend on Saturday evening from 7pm \u2013 11pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s the PERFECT weekend to be in the Marina Casa de Campo \u2013 we look forward to seeing you
