Lesson 2; Fresh pasta &#8211; Ravioli, Spaghetti, Neopolitana Sauce"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Rebecca-italian-chef.jpg?resize=575%2C494&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"Rebecca, italian chef\" class=\"wp-image-12529\" title=\"Rebecca, italian chef\" height=\"494\" width=\"575\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I think it was pretty clear from last week\u2019s article that I will never be a particularly successful<a href=\"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/2010\/02\/me-an-italian-chef-lesson-1-bread-pizza-focaccia\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"> Italian chef<\/a>, however I am not&nbsp;COMPLETELY&nbsp;inept and with plenty of guidance and more than a spoon full of help, I can cook! Last week I cooked <a href=\"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/2010\/02\/me-an-italian-chef-lesson-1-bread-pizza-focaccia\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">pizza<\/a> and this week I cooked homemade pasta and even if I do say so myself it was very good! I was under the impression that cooking homemade pasta would be extremely challenging and in fact it turned out to be remarkably easily \u2013 although I\u2019m sure if I attempted to cook it on my own it would be an absolute&nbsp;disaster!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>This week\u2019s class again began with&nbsp;kneading&nbsp;and massaging and&nbsp;pummeling&nbsp;of dough to create the pasta dough, I\u2019m virtually an expert at this now!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then we had to prepare the chicken for the ravioli filling. The recipe said \u2018chicken breast\u2019 which in England means a piece of chicken breast, without the bone. In this country I discovered that chicken breast comes with the actual breast bone, which meant I had to remove it. Not a good idea. When Lisa handed me a knife as long as my arm, I\u2019m not sure who was more terrified, me, Lisa or the poor chicken breast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here I am looking not overly confident\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/2010\/02\/me-an-italian-chef-lesson-2-fresh-pasta-ravioli-spaghetti-neopolitana-sauce\/dsc02701-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-12609\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/DSC027011.jpg?resize=560%2C420&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"DSC02701\" class=\"wp-image-12609\" title=\"DSC02701\" height=\"420\" width=\"560\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">But I did it! Wow. I boned a chicken breast, eat your heart out Julia Child, next I will bone a duck!<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/2010\/02\/me-an-italian-chef-lesson-2-fresh-pasta-ravioli-spaghetti-neopolitana-sauce\/dsc02706-3\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-12615\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/DSC027062.jpg?resize=560%2C420&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"DSC02706\" class=\"wp-image-12615\" title=\"DSC02706\" height=\"420\" width=\"560\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the chicken-cutting near death disaster the rest of the class went very smoothly and was very enjoyable. My favourite part was&nbsp;definitely the rolling of the pasta with the pasta-making machine. Using the machine makes you feel (and look) like a real pasta making professional and it requires almost no skill at all!
