When we arrived the children were all sleeping on mats in a large room and although we tried not to wake them – we\u00a0inevitably\u00a0woke most of them, who were of course very excited by our visit and even more excited by our sack of gifts!\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\nOur second and final stop was at the Hogar de Ancianos, where we left several sacks of gifts and provisions in the home’s kitchen to be distributed and used by the staff. After which we had some time to spend talking with\u00a0the elderly people – who were all very friendly and very pleased to see us! Before we left we sang \u00abFeliz Navidad\u00bb which was received very well – everyone was clapping and smiling and some people even joined in with the singing!\n\n[nggallery id=213]\n\nAlthough the 12th grade pupils had to postpone their post-exam partying a few hours in order to take this trip – I’m sure they will all agree that seeing the smiles on the children’s and\u00a0elderly\u00a0people’s faces made it well worth it!\n\nThank you to everyone who contributed gifts!","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
