During this opening ceremony she will present flowers to the \u2018madrina\u2019 of the opposition team, the Estrellas Orientales de San Pedro de Macoris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the build up to the opening of the baseball season, the Toros are holding a press conference at Casa de Campo this Friday at noon, which Silvana will also be part of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Silvana is a pupil at the Abraham Lincoln school in La Romana, and aside from now being famous thanks to the Toros, she is also a mathematical genius. Following consecutive wins in the regional and national&nbsp;maths Olympics competition, she has been selected to represent the Dominican Republic in the Ibero-American maths Olympics to be held in Mexico and the Central American and Caribbean Olympics to be held in Colombia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was able to do a short interview with Silvana, and this is what she told me about being chosen to be the \u2018Madrina de los Toros del Este.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cI am a big Toros supporter and have been all my life. I grew up here in La Romana and I have been friends with all the Toros supporters since I can remember. My friend Melissa Gill was the \u2018madrina\u2019 last year and when I went to watch her in the opening ceremony, it was suggested that I would be the \u2018madrina\u2019 the following year.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The opening ceremony and game will be held on Friday the 16th of October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more
