While stopping for gas a man came up to the car asking for money, because, he said, he was trying to publish a book of poetry. Not overly convinced but impressed and amused by his creative way to earn a living, I gave him some pesos, and in exchange I got a small, very crudely printed booklet of his poetry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The best 20 pesos I ever spent! This man, Domingo Silverio, is actually very talented and in my opinion does actually deserve to get his poetry printed!.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this series of posts \u2018The gas station poet of Jarabacoa\u2019 I will be publishing Domingo\u2019s poems one by one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p style=\"font: normal normal normal 12px\/normal Helvetica; margin: 0px;\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px;\">tan bella como el agua de la fuente<\/span><\/p><p style=\"font: normal normal normal 12px\/normal Helvetica; text-align: center; margin: 0px;\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px;\">me sent\u00ed tan feliz al saber que era tu&nbsp;<span>due\u00f1o<\/span><\/span><\/p><p style=\"font: normal normal normal 12px\/normal Helvetica; text-align: center; margin: 0px;\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px;\">pero luego entristes\u00ed al descubrir que todo era un&nbsp;sue\u00f1o.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the poem is in Spanish, we have attempted to translate it, of course, it is much better appreciated in Espanol, but if that\u2019s not possible, I hope that you can appreciate it, and that all of it\u2019s beauty is not lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p style=\"font: normal normal normal 12px\/normal Helvetica;
