{"id":317422,"date":"2009-10-05T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2009-10-05T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/memories-of-casa-de-campo-hello-my-name-is-carol\/"},"modified":"2022-10-21T17:50:59","modified_gmt":"2022-10-21T21:50:59","slug":"memories-of-casa-de-campo-hello-my-name-is-carol","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/es\/memories-of-casa-de-campo-hello-my-name-is-carol\/","title":{"rendered":"Memories of Casa de Campo: Hello, my name is Carol"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/carol.jpg?ssl=1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/carol.jpg?resize=577%2C384&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"carol\" class=\"wp-image-6589\" title=\"carol\" height=\"384\" width=\"577\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We arrived in&nbsp;<span style=\"border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-bottom-color: #0066cc; background-repeat: initial; background-color: transparent;\">Casa de Campo<\/span> in August, 1987. &nbsp;My husband had been invited by Casa de Campo general manager, Touran Rateb, and Food and Beverage Director, Kurt Tschamper, to move from Miami, Florida to Casa de Campo to direct the nine restaurants of Casa&nbsp;de Campo and&nbsp;<span style=\"border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-bottom-color: #0066cc; background-repeat: initial; background-color: transparent;\">Altos de Chavon<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving-wp.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com\/2009\/10\/colinas-house.jpg?ssl=1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/colinas-house-300x202-2.jpg?resize=270%2C182&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"colinas house\" class=\"wp-image-6590\" title=\"colinas house\" height=\"182\" width=\"270\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>I was a homemaker and mother of three young children. &nbsp;We moved into a house in the Colinas of Chavon. &nbsp; The children started school that fall at Abraham Lincoln School in Central Romana. &nbsp;At that time there was a&nbsp;<span>Casa de Campo hotel bus which<\/span> served as a school bus, and drove all around Casa de Campo to pick up the children to take them to school each morning, and bring them home in the afternoons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Living in Altos de Chavon and Casa de Campo is amazing. &nbsp;It is one of the most beautiful places in the&nbsp;world. &nbsp;The children&nbsp;attended Abraham Lincoln school until they graduated and went on to colleges in the United States. &nbsp;Our youngest child graduated in 1998. &nbsp;We lived here until January, 1999 when we moved to Ohio, USA.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/colinas-house-2-300x198-2.jpg?resize=270%2C178&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"colinas house 2\" class=\"wp-image-6591\" title=\"colinas house 2\" height=\"178\" width=\"270\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The \u2018Memories in Casa\u2019 series of articles is being contributed by Carol Burke, all the articles have been completely written by Carol and all the beautiful photos are her own.
