His new exhibit, entitled \u201cCielos Inventados\u201d or Imaginary Skies is composed of 2o pieces inspired by local landscapes. His art will be on exhibit from August 21st until September 21st, 2009<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">If you have followed the artist\u2019s career in La Romana, probably you have had the opportunity to appreciate his remarkable preference for landscapes, windows, Caribbean architecture, and marine life. &nbsp;This time Altos de Chavon Gallery invites you to admire nature seen from Silvestre\u2019s perspective. To understand why new shapes, lines and traces become part of the sky or the trees. The use of color, materials and techniques hasn\u2019t changed at all, he has just made subtle variations that make his pieces even more attractive to the spectator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>A little more about the artist\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Jorge Silvestre, &nbsp;born on September 9<sup>th<\/sup> 1965 in la Romana, Dominican Republic, this 43 year old artist has had a very successful career, with exhibits in different countries, while some of his masterpieces can be found in private collections throughout Sweden, Korea, United States, Japan, Italy, United Kingdom, France and Spain. Indeed 2009, has been a very important year for the artist. On March 20<sup>th<\/sup> , Spanish art dealer, Mr. Oscar Villegas, invited him to participate in a Collective Exhibition in Cadiz at El Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de la L\u00ednea &nbsp;called \u201cRa\u00edces Caribe\u201d, in which five famous Dominican painters showcased their most recent artwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>El pr\u00f3ximo viernes 21 de Agosto a las 7:30 pm, la Galer\u00eda Principal de Altos de Altos de Chav\u00f3n ser\u00e1 el punto de encuentro ideal para los amantes de las artes pl\u00e1sticas que se podr\u00e1n deleitar con la nueva propuesta del artista pl\u00e1stico dominicano Jorge Silvestre. La muestra, la cual permanecer\u00e1 abierta al p\u00fablico por un per\u00edodo de un mes, llevar\u00e1 por nombre \u201cCielos Inventados\u201d compuesta  por unas veinte obras que se inspiran en diferentes paisajes de su tierra natal.<\/p><p>Con un total de catorce exposiciones individuales y colectivas, a nivel nacional e internacional, este artista oriundo de la Romana, ha logrado atraer un p\u00fablico muy exigente que le ha visto evolucionar en el manejo del color, el uso de materiales y la tem\u00e1tica. Sin embargo, hay un sello que identifica las obras de Silvestre que se ha mantenido inalterable en el tiempo, y son sus finas l\u00edneas yuxtapuestas al producto final, a veces delineadas y otras garabateadas.<\/p><p>\u201cCielos inventados\u201d hace referencia a un nuevo elemento presente en el trabajo de Silvestre; formas y trazos que producto de la imaginaci\u00f3n, se integran al paisaje como un elemento m\u00e1s, llegando a ser el punto focal de la obra.
