{"id":316144,"date":"2009-02-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2009-02-04T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/kandela-not-just-for-tourists\/"},"modified":"2022-10-21T17:48:53","modified_gmt":"2022-10-21T21:48:53","slug":"kandela-not-just-for-tourists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/es\/kandela-not-just-for-tourists\/","title":{"rendered":"Kandela! &#8211; Not just for Tourists!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/kandela-300x199-2.jpg?resize=300%2C199&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"kandela\" class=\"wp-image-1414\" title=\"kandela\" height=\"199\" width=\"300\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>If you live in Casa de Campo, or visit frequently, you\u2019ve probably heard of this little show they have going in Altos de Chavon, called Kandela (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kandela.com.do\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.kandela.com.do<\/a>). &nbsp;It\u2019s a musical variety show, that was created around 2002 and is one heck of a show. &nbsp;While it\u2019s true that the show is aimed at the large crowds that come from the cruise ships and the occasional all-inclusive resorts, the show its self is no less impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Kandela! is an hour long, taking the audience on a musical tour of different high-energy dances, with exceptional choreography and impressive costumes. &nbsp;I\u2019ve seen this show no less than &nbsp;10 times and I\u2019ll gladly recommend it to anyone who has never seen it. &nbsp;Casa de Campo has worked hard to create, maintain and improve the show over the years \u2013 &nbsp;and it shows! &nbsp;The dancing, singing, moving and shaking is impressive \u2013 I\u2019m talking international levels of impressive, not a \u201clets put on a cheap little show for the masses\u201d impressive. &nbsp;The show is so impressive in fact that a Sheik, whose privacy will be respected, rented out the entire amphitheater to watch Kandela! with just twenty of his friends.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/kandela_21-300x206-2.jpg?resize=300%2C206&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"kandela_21\" class=\"wp-image-1406\" title=\"kandela_21\" height=\"206\" width=\"300\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>I remember once going to an all inclusive hotel, where they put on a show. The show had dancers who had no business putting on tight tights, no business dancing around on stage and no business dancing anywhere impressionable little children were present. Luckily, Kandela! is no such show \u2013 Kandela! is truly is an impressive, profesional, performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So back to my point\u2026 GO WATCH THE SHOW! &nbsp;It\u2019s only on util April, &nbsp;and will start again next December, but its something that if you spend any reasonable amount of time living in Casa de Campo, you should really be ashamed for not having seen it. &nbsp;Even better \u2013 its something fun to share with guests visiting from abroad or even from Santo Domingo, as I\u2019ll bet many of them have not seen it either. Who knows, you might even kick yourself for not have gone to watch it earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on whether you like to dine early or late, Kandela! is a great way to start an evening out, or a fun activity after enjoying a fine meal at La Piazzetta or Sangria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><object width=\"400\" height=\"326\" data=\"http:\/\/video.google.com\/googleplayer.swf?docid=3042705495242304501&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=true\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\"><param name=\"id\" value=\"VideoPlayback\"><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/video.google.com\/googleplayer.swf?docid=3042705495242304501&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=true\"><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\"><\/object><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tickets are only US$35.00 at the door and well worth the price of admission.
