\"\"<\/a>So much to write about this last weekend, so I will have to break this up into two posts. The most memorable event though, was without a doubt a burger I had during the Texan Barbercue Dinner Buffet. Wow! I\u2019m sad to say it was the best burger I have ever had -BAR NONE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep in mind that when it comes to burgers, I am a tough critic, as this is among my favorite foods. But this burger was without a doubt the best of the best. The meat was perfectly cooked, and incredibly mouth watering, with the buns just slightly warmed on the grill. The cheese melted by the heat of the patty and the condiments fresh and delicious. For years to come I will dream of this burger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/a>Though the Texan Barbercue Dinner Buffet was more than just this magical burger, that was one of the things I will remember most. As for food, notable mentions also go to the mesquite cooked prime rib, the sausages and of course the spare ribs \u2013 all of which where simply exceptional. For those looking to eat a little healthier, I believe there where also salads and a delicious meatless chilli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food however was not all this event was about \u2013 though I still cant help to fantasize about that darn burger. The activities where many, for adults, families and kids. The BBQ took place outdoors at the rodeo right near the \u2018Dude Ranch\u2019 (aka Equestrian Center).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/a>The evening began with some show jumping, which once upon a time I used to do myself. I even had the thrill of being able to spend a few minutes speaking with my old instructor \u2013 Enrico Canobio, who also happens to be in charge of the equestrian center and Polo -of which there was a nice demonstration as well. In fact, he let me know that there will be a great Polo tournament near the end of August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/object><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/a>After the Polo demonstration started the most fun event of them all \u2013 the Donkey Polo Tournaments! Yes you read that right \u2013 Donkey Polo, as in Polo on Donkeys. Mind you that this is not your traditional Polo, as instead of a chucker (I think that what it\u2019s called), you get a broom, an instead of the regulation size Polo ball, you get a little beach ball; and of course instead of horses, you get to ride on Donkeys!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/object><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donkey Polo is arguably much more difficult, though far less dangerous, than regular Polo, as getting those asses to move is a real challenge \u2013 or a real pain in the Ass \u2013 depending which way you look at it. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/a>Ok, so the time came to get onto my Burrito and set the world records and show all these tourists how it is done\u2026 at least that was my attitude as I strolled into the ring \u2013 unfortunately, my ass had different plans in mind. More precisely, my donkey had no intention on participating\u2026 darn Jackass. Nevertheless, I whistled and shouted and did my best to motivate the Donkey, which eventually did mozey on over one side of the course to the next\u2026 just as the ball was going in the opposite direction. In my mind, I was ready to kick some serious\u2026 behind, but alas my partner would have none of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/object><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the end, my team lost 3-0. While I have my reservations as to the whether the person was \"\"<\/a>actually riding a donkey or a Pony, as it was just too darn fast \u2013 it was fun anyways, and even more so being able to join a few other \u2018adults\u2019 who where oh so willing to also make asses of themselves. Yeeeehhaaawwwww!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a side note, once the Donkey Polo was over, I had a real authentic western walk going \u2013 I could have been confused with a real cowboy; not to mention that I now truly understand why they walk so oddly in the old western\u2026. why must have been playing Donkey Polo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During all this, there was also a great local band playing \u2013 \u201cTop 40\u201d. Those unfamiliar with them, could easily confuse their singing with that of the very bands whose songs they are playing. I\u2019ve been listening to them for a long time and they never cease to impress me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/a>With the music playing, it was time for the dancing to start. This unfortunately was when my posse and I decided to get the heck out of Dodge (sorry could not resist the archaic western reference).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we mozzied back to our covered wagon, and headed into the sunset, remembering all the fun we had just had I could not help but to take a deep sigh and remember that darn burger\u2026. soooooooo good. Just in search of another mouthwatering reincarnation, I will be attending the 4th of July Theme night at the Tropicana tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
