Photo of the Week: A Storm Rolls In!
It’s official, hurricane season is here and despite June historically being the ‘warm-up’ month, when the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean normally experiences a minimal number of storms and bad weather, here in La Romana and Casa de Campo this so called ‘warm-up’ has been rather fierce to say the least!
Weather Warning: “Earl” will be passing close by….
Hurricane Earl, which is currently over Puerto Rico, will be passing to the NORTH of the Dominican Republic later today/tonight. There is NO need to panic, but because of the close proximity of Earl, it is almost certain that the Dominican Republic during the next 24 hours will experience some heavy RAIN and winds. We recommend that […]
Memories of Casa de Campo: The Skies of Casa de Campo

Hanna Banana
Photo of the Chavon river after Tropical Storm Hanna Banana rained for almost two straight days. Though looking […]
2 months to go…
Image poached from http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ Nobody likes to talk about it I know, but its a reality of life, especially when living in the Caribbean, hurricanes blow. And boy can the blow hard. Typically the Dominican Republic does not get hit directly, and when it does, a very low percentage of the time is it in […]
Farmers’ Almanac predicts that Casa de Campo is the perfect 2008 / 2009 winter hot spot.
Well, perhaps that’s somewhat open to interpretation, but the fact of the matter is that the Farmer’s Almanac has in fact come out and is predicting a very VERY cold winter up north the the good ol’ US of A. While this means that there will be many people freezing their behinds of in the […]
