An exceptionally warm day was made all the better with Adriana and Andrea Feaugas’ “Pareo Party” that featured splashes of vibrant colors, summer cocktails, and ladies all delicately dressed in beautiful wraps. In their backyard at Las Cañas #78, lounge chairs were set up for ladies to enjoy the August afternoon and take it easy, sailing into the weekend with a breeze.
And what a good way to start the weekend it was! We sipped on sangria and ice tea, and munched on delicious Venezuelan arepas by the hostesses’ Pick.Aria Gourmet line while mingling with friends old and new. It’s always wonderful to see familiar faces and just as exciting to greet new Café de la Leche goers. It’s easy to become a fan!
This edition featured handmade jewelry by Maree Couldrey who donated the pieces to raise money for the Hogar del Niño kids’ school supplies this coming year. Beaded bracelets and earrings tied into the “Pareo Party” theme perfectly. The school recently celebrated the end of their 2017 summer camp and a superb graduation. Café de la Leche events help raise supplies for the Hogar del Niño’s Crib Room, supplying 80% of the milk and formula they need to operate each month. It’s an excellent cause to join and support, and with fun dress-up parties it shakes things up in Casa de Campo!

The Hogar del Niño is a children’s daycare and educational center for over 1500 children, located in La Romana town, just outside of Casa de Campo. Children from as young as just a few weeks old up to 18 years old are cared for and educated daily, from as early as 5:30am and staying as late as 7pm.
The organization also provides special schooling to over 75 hearing impaired and blind children, as well as a vocational school where over 235 students receive classes in different areas like: sewing; industrial preparation, installation and electrical maintenance; plumbing and management of computer office programs.
