A new setting for this month’s Café de la Leche is in store… in a new store! Back in December, Villa Collection opened in La Romana near Multiplaza and owner Moraima Mirambeaux is welcoming all this Friday to come visit and bring aid to the children of the Hogar del Niño. Supporters of Café de la Leche are a plenty in Casa de Campo — making up for 80% of the Hogar del Niño’s milk supply each month through donations. This Friday, April 7th we hope to see some new faces around too, because as the foundation grows so does its need for the community’s assistance!
Recently, the Hogar del Niño celebrated their annual Hogar del Niño Weekend, and Adopt a Crib dinner wherein the success of a graduate was recognized. The significance the Patronato Benéfico Oriental has on the lives on these children is remarkable and does not go overlooked. Daily, they feed, clothe, and bathe over 200 babies in their Crib Room, preparing over 800 bottles of milk per day, and provide educational instruction to over 1,500 students. Underway is the initiative for more Montessori classrooms in their school, which the charity has noticed is a great learning style for their youth. Come find out more about the Hogar del Niño’s projects and plans for this year at April’s Café de la Leche.
Touring Villa Collection will be an added bonus for the afternoon as we browse their spring and summer collections. The store offers a wide range of furniture and home décor, and you might just get a few ideas for this year’s spring cleaning! Out with the old, in with the new! Remember to stay festive this Friday and wear a spring headpiece. In this themed Café de la Leche event, Moraima asks that you show your enthusiasm for spring with flower arrangements, butterflies, ribbons — you name it in spring headwear. As a contribution, help out the Hogar del Niño’s Crib Room with 1,800 grams of Milex Kinder, Gold, NAN, Enfamil, Alacta Plus, Nido Crecimiento or RD $1,200.
