Last Friday night, Casa de Campo Living was invited by Marco Maccioni to the BeachClub by Le Cirque, to try a few select dishes which may be included on the menu at the NEW La Caña Restaurant and Lounge by Il Circo.
The new La Caña Restaurant and Lounge by Il Circo is scheduled to open in exactly 2 weeks – on the 22nd of December and will not be just another Italian restaurant! According to Marco the menu will be a ‘Mediterranean fusion’ which will of course include some Italian dishes (great al dente pasta for instance) but will essentially be a mixture great foods from all of the Mediterranean.
Some of the dishes on the ‘taster menu’ we tried were:
- ‘Catch of the day’ – a gorgeous piece of very delicatly battered and fried fish with a hint of lemon served with a crispy biscuit, black olive and apple pieces.
- Eggplant Terine served with real imported mozerella cheese from Napoli – the best mozerella we’ve had in the Dominican Republic to date.
- Pumpkin Ravioli served with black truffle and foie gras – delicious.
- Beef Tenderloin served with a black truffle foam over potato and asparagus.
All these dishes were simply divine and we can only hope that they will all make the final menu!
Remember these dishes were all served during a pre-opening tasting – so it is possible that some of the above dishes may not be found on the menu and of course there will be many more.
