On Wednesday, March 28th La Marina Casa de Campo will be hosting the art exhibition “De Otra Manera” by the Puerto Rican writer and graffiti artist Sandro Figueroa García, better known as Sen2.
Sen2 or Sandro Figueroa García born in Puerto Rico in 1969 grew up in Canteras a tough neighborhood in Santurce, Puerto Rico. In the “golden age” of graffiti during the 1980s, Sen2 was one of the founders of Mad Crew, which had great success in the artists home country. After moving to the United States, Sen2 became a member of the legendary Tats Crew, a group of graffiti artists and muralists featured in New York. Sen2 evolved from spraying wild style pieces on trains and walls to the development of mixed media works on canvas. He went from writing classic New York graffiti to a combination of graphic styles letters with three-dimensional elements, pop art images, and abstract art techniques.
Sen2 brings the walls of the Big Apple (EE. UU.) to the exotic Marina Casa de Campo, a set of pieces that have a combination of styles that include graphic letters with three-dimensional elements, images of pop art and abstract art techniques. The opening cocktail opening will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 pm, at the local ERH Marine located on the street Paseo del Mar, number 06 in the Marina Casa de Campo in La Romana.
Sen2 Figueroa is here thanks to Smith & Watson Fine Furnishings in New York. A company established in 1907, acquired by the Landa family in 2015, Smith & Watson keeps its legacy. Producing high-quality furniture in the international market under the new directive along with collaborating with artists has brought much attention to the design world. The fusion between a pop artist and traditional furniture opens the way for new expectations in the world of art and decoration.
“De Otra Manera” will be open to the public from March 27th to March 31st, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 9:30 pm. The event is sponsored by ERH Marine, Vespa, Banco Lopez de Haro, and Casa de Campo Resort & Villas.
A percentage of sales will be donated to Hogar del Niño, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children in La Romana and nearby communities.
