Attention foodies! While we wait for the return of our delicious gastronomy series here in Casa de Campo (fingers crossed it’s coming up soon!!) we announce a very exciting event you will enjoy in the meantime. As part of the ongoing Chef Exchange series that highlights Relais & Châteaux’s most celebrated chefs, such as Chef Jacob Jasinski from Seasons at Ocean House in Rhode Island, Eden Roc at Cap Cana will now host Chef Justin Cogley of California’s L’Auberge Carmel on Saturday, January 14th, 2017.
Alongside Eden Roc’s Executive Chef Gianluca Re Fraschini, the chef duo will prepare a special menu inspired by the flavors and beauty of their respective cities for the event “Gifts from the Pacific”, that will take place at Blue Grill + Bar. The event consists of a welcome Cocktail, a five-course menu and wine pairings with cost of USD$ 180 per person, including taxes. Plus, as an introduction to the event, the restaurant’s Sous Chef, Koyi Murrieta will showcase the art of Nikkei cooking techniques, a culinary fusion between Japanese and Peruvian cuisine, with a selection of appetizers.
Recently nominated for the James Beard Foundation Award for 2016 Best Chef: West, and recipient of the prestigious title of Grand Chef Relais & Châteaux in 2013, Chef Cogley joined L’Auberge in 2011. With delicate interplay between creativity, tradition, and respect for his ingredients, Cogley’s food is deeply unique. His style is a sophisticated balance between innovation and unwavering deference for the finest ingredients he procures. Previously, Cogley worked at Charlie Trotter’s critically acclaimed restaurant in Chicago and helped to open the Elysian Hotel as Executive Sous Chef.
