On Monday the 26th of December, the holiday celebrations continued in Altos de Chavón, Casa de Campo with a spectacular fireworks display and the hypnotic drumming beats of David Almengod.
Although scheduled to start at 8:30pm, David Almengod, talented Dominican percussionist and his group of 8, began remarkably EARLY – to thrill the tourists, who were visiting Altos de Chavón from the Costa Luminosa cruise ship, docked in La Romana every Monday. The more than 1,000 tourists, who had just enjoyed a “Dominican Extravaganza” and the Dominican dance show “Kandela!” in the Altos de Chavón amphitheater, swarmed across the main plaza and enjoyed a spectacular fireworks display – timed to the beats of David Almengod and his drums.

Once the crowd of Costa Luminosa cruise ship tourists had dissipated, the party continued for Casa de Campo villa owners and visitors and ended with a spectacular finale – starring Casa de Campo’s kids! A group of more than 10 little ones were invited onstage and “drummed” along to the final song!
