After a welcome dinner at La Casita restaurant, approximately 100 golfers rose early to tee off on Casa de Campo’s most famous golf course, the Teeth of the Dog for the 3rd annual Latin America Pro-Am. Composed of one golf professional and four amateurs, teams embarked on the rigorous course with high spirits and gung-ho attitudes.
A sunny day made for exemplary views of the green, while a bit of a breeze made a few golfers especially watchful. The tournament will play throughout the week, in the format of 1 Best Ball today, followed by 1 Best Ball Net and 1 Best Ball Gross – Thursday, and 2 Best Ball Net on Friday. They’ll compete for the overall prizes, as well as 1st and 2nd place in each flight, while professionals will face each other in the professional flight category using Stableford Scoring.
Guests accompanying golfers are encouraged to enjoy Casa de Campo’s numerous attractions — we suggest visits to Altos de Chavón, watersports at Minitas, and playing a game of tennis at La Terraza or clay shooting at the Shooting Center! Last night, the resort announced golfers in the Latin America Pro-Am can visit Pinecrest Physical Therapy for a 25% off discount… so, stay healthy this week and go strong!
A noteworthy announcement also came as the resort introduced its executive director of the new Casa de Campo Golf Learning Center, Charlie Epps. With more than 40 years experience as a PGA professional, we’re sure he’s excited to witness this week’s tournament. Good luck to all participating golfers and stay tuned for the results!
