Yesterday I heard that the new Casa de Campo gym is one of the best-equipped gyms in the Carribean and today, Thursday the 17th of December it will be opening it’s doors for the first time to Casa de Campo villa owners and hotel guests for a FREE CYBEX golf training session.

The CYBEX golf training session is taking place at the gym (in the new swanky hotel area) from 9am to 12 noon, when CYBEX professionals will be training golf fanatics and other interested parties on how to use the CYBEX machines to best tone their muscles to improve their golf. Yesterday I visited the gym and met with the CYBEX professionals, who told me that the Casa de Campo gym can now be considered one of the most well-equipped gyms in not only the country, but also the Caribbean. Every piece of machinery is brand new and made by CYBEX who are affiliated with the PGA, because their equipment is specially designed to enable golfers to get a great workout, to improve their golf, as well as provide a great all-round work-out for non-golfers. In fact CYBEX machines are used by many of the world’s best golfers including the world’s best ‘player’ Tiger Woods.

The new gym has top-of-the-range CYBEX running machines, Arc-trainers (a type of cross trainer which is a cross between an elliptical and a stepper), bikes, water rowers, numerous weights machines, a weights bench and a large area for stretching and floor work. There is also an outdoor area, which may be used for morning yoga and pilates classes.

The gym is free for all hotel guests and available to residents and Casa de Campo villa owners for a daily fee (previously $10), the Casa de Campo hotel is currently discussing the possibility of offering villa owners a yearly gym membership, we hope to have more details soon.
