On our recent journey of discovery, otherwise known as our ‘press trip’ to various destinations in La Romana and Bayahibe, we discovered a number of interesting places and activities to enjoy
- right here on our doorstep, only just outside our beloved Casa de Campo!

One of our many stops along our way was Cadaques, a beach retreat village with hotel rooms, holiday apartments (for sale and to rent), beach, a swimming pool, restaurants, shops, a spa and much more – read on to find out!

cadaques2Words cannot describe how beautiful and charming this place is until you have been there. It is essentially a beautiful Caribbean beach-side village, with self-catering hotel rooms and apartments – but it is so much more, feeling like something out of a dream. Overlooking the Caribbean, only a 20 minute boat ride from Marina Casa de Campo and maybe 5 or 10 from Bayahibe its a simply exotic place to visit. A perfect place to go on your boat, or to rent a boat and head over!

Cadaques feels like a cross between Altos de Chavon and the Marina Casa de Campo – with beautiful plazas, narrow walk ways, shops, cafe’s and restaurants. It has a gorgeous stretch of beach with a pier, and most intriguing of all (in my opinion) – water toys; giant inflatable walk ways, trampoline etc, which I am desperate to try out!

Oddly enough, this somehow seems like a wonderful place for taking a weekend retreat to…

Final Verdict: Beautiful and refreshing. An excellent place to come with your boat before or after Palmilla.
