Memories of Casa de Campo: Polo Season
Welcome back to ‘Memories in Casa de Campo,’ In this post, Carol Burke, member of the Casa de Campo community and keen photographer from the 1980’s, reminiceses about the Polo season and shares with us her fantastic photographs.
It was always an exciting way to spend the afternoon. In the late 1980s, polo at Casa de Campo attracted polo players from all over the world. As you drove into the polo grounds you noticed the people and horses waiting in anticipation. The atmosphere of heightened drama made you feel like you were at a medieval jousting tournament – amid fluttering flags and charging horses. There were always refreshments and lively conversation.
Carol Burke our faithful writer of the series ‘Memories in Casa de Campo,’ is currently very busy digitalising all her photographs from the Dueños events back in 1991 – which she will be sharing with us soon.
Remember, Polo Season starts this week, read more here: Get Ready: The 2009-2010 Polo Season is about to begin!
